What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?] Rom 8:31
Life is waiting to hear what we have to say. The spirit world is waiting to see how we will respond in adversity. The enemy throws darts at us and what is our response? What then shall we say? Should we begin to profess the power of our problem, proclaiming its prowess to anyone who will listen? What will we say during the tough times? Will our words be faithless and fear-filled? Will we rehearse the events of the past rather than remembering the blessing of our faithful God? Will we speak negativity and doubt, expecting the worst rather than declaring the hope that does not disappoint?
When life poses the hard questions, our response determines our experience of victory. Because we respond out of our perceptions of our experiences.
Our words create our mindset – give us our frame of mind. If we allow difficult circumstances to rob us of our faith, how can we expect to make it to the end of the battle?
God doesn’t want us to simply resign ourselves to go through hard times. He wants us to grow through them.
He’s working the high calling in us. He’s molding us and shaping us to make us like Jesus. And sometimes adversity is His tool. The sharp one that we think will utterly destroy us, piercing us at our very core, is actually being used to add character and detail that makes us all the more beautiful in the end.
We need to ask God for a fresh revelation of who He is. To see each problem as an opportunity to come in contact with another side of God. To experience Him in a new way…behold another facet of His glory. If we view adversity as a chance to become more familiar with God, where’s the down side? The enemy cannot win if this is our outlook.
If God is for us who can successfully be against us? Weapons may be formed but they cannot prosper in their intent. They will return to their sender void. Who can be a worthy opponent with God on our side? The enemy comes to challenge us with adversity. He objects to the truth of who God says we are. A challenge is simply that – a confrontation between who we are and how we see ourselves, between our walk and our talk. It questions the validity of our faith, disputing the truth that God has already spoken over us.
If the God of this entire universe is for us, we’ve already won! It is for us to truly realize that and to continue to stand in faith because the King has already ruled in our favor. So when the enemy tries to appeal in the courts of your heart, even presenting evidence from your temporal circumstances, simply open the Word of God and proclaim the verdict of your Father, the Righteous Judge, the Alpha and Omega, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who knows your name and treasures every hair on your head.
You’re not just another case number to Him! He loves you with a love that defies reason and spans the breadth of time itself. If God is for us, and He assuredly is, there is no one and nothing that can effectively stand against us. Go boldly into your day today in the knowledge that there is nothing that can harm you…nothing that can utterly destroy you, because God is on your side. No matter how formidable the opposition looks, God is on your side!
Love & Blessings,
