Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV
Father, today we ask for your help. We need help, Lord, to stay the course. To finish strong. As your children, we want to do what is good. We want to do what pleases You. But in this broken world, it is often the most difficult route to take. To go against our flesh. To choose to follow You when the path of least resistance continues to beckon.
Lord, many of us today feel worn out. Frustrated, tired, drained. As though there is no gain in seeking justice and doing good. As though that only leads to persecution. And sometimes, it does. May we be reminded, Lord, that You alone are our prize and great reward. Your grace and mercy are our greatest treasures. May we be revived by Your love today. Propelled to follow Jesus, even if that means sharing in His suffering. Help us to embrace all that it means to walk as Jesus did. May we not fear the risk of loving as You have called us to love, Lord. Knowing that there is no real risk because Your love covers us and Your mercy never fails us.
May we press on to do good today in your strength, Lord. Following Your lead. Doing only what You have called us to do. Help us to resist the distractions of the enemy in busy-ness and frantic striving. Even as we do good, we are reminded that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. Today, we look for where You are working – in our homes, neighborhoods, communities, and our cities. At our jobs, supermarkets, and gyms. We will show the love of Christ wherever we go. No matter the cost. You spared no cost in rescuing us from sin.
We look forward to the harvest You have promised, Lord. Not of material things. But of souls being restored and reconciled to the One who loved them first. Of captives being set free. People walking from darkness into Your marvelous light. May we never grow tired of seeing the lost come to know Your love. We are willing. We are ready. We are grateful to be used for Your glory once again. Amen.
Love & Blessings,
