Treasure in Jars

A prayer celebrating the beautiful paradox of God’s power residing in our frail human vessels.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.   2 Corinthians 4: 7 AMPC

Father, thank you for placing treasure inside of me.  You’ve given me gifts and abilities to use for Your glory and to bless Your people.  You filled me with Your Spirit so I can have relationship with You.  You knitted me together on purpose with love and care.  Today I’m grateful that the power you gave me points to You.

You put Your power and light in me – a jar of clay – so that I cannot boast.  An earthen vessel held together only by You.  So that all who see will know that the anything good in me… Anything of repute… Anything worth honor or accolades… is not my doing, but Yours.  It isn’t my power, but Yours, flowing through me.

Today I rest in the fact that I am not the be all or end all of anything.  You, Lord, are the Alpha and Omega.  The beginning and the end.  How wonderful to remember that even my weaknesses will be used to highlight Your strength.  And my strengths will also point to You, the Omnipotent One.  I am, only because of You, Lord.

Love & Blessings,

Less Trodden
